MNPARENTSKNOW WEBSITE EXPANDS
~Trusted parent Website now offers information for parents with children from birth through age five~
Roseville – The Minnesota Department of Education today announced that the MNParentsKnow.info Website has been expanded to include research-based information for parents of children from birth through age five.
“I’m pleased that the Minnesota ParentsKnow Website now offers parenting information to an increasing number of Minnesota parents,” said Education Commissioner Alice Seagren. “The expansion of Minnesota ParentsKnow supports Minnesota’s continued commitment to supporting parents as their child's first and most important teacher.”
In May 2007, the Minnesota Department of Education and its partners launched the Minnesota ParentsKnow Website, which offers Minnesota parents a convenient source for trusted knowledge on their child’s health, learning, development and safety. The information added today for ages one through five is in addition to the infant information already available on the Website. Ultimately, the Department plans to include information through grade 12.
MNParentsKnow.info is hosted by the Minnesota Department of Education and was developed as part of the Educate Parents Partnership, an early childhood initiative of Governor Tim Pawlenty funded by the 2006 Legislature. The Website was developed by the Department of Education in collaboration with the Department of Health, Department of Human Services and many other public and private organizations.
