During the Dropout Prevention Initiative, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) provided professional development and technical assistance to participating districts and others working to increase school completion rates. School and local education district staff can use the resources and tools developed during this initiative (see below) to help inform their decisions about programming to prevent dropout.

MDE is also developing a Dropout Prevention Programming Guide for schools with easy access to current literature references, best practices, models and other resources for preventing school dropout. District leadership teams can use the information in the Guide as they consider the needs of their students and current and future programming in each of the ten dropout prevention strategy areas.
