Training & Workshops

Each year the Indian Education staff is available by request to train in the area of curriculum development, parent committee roles and responsibilities, higher education scholarships, infusing culture in school curriculum, and meeting the requirements of the federal “No Child Left Behind” legislation. Workshops are held each year in the areas of special education, parenting and other topics as needed.

In April of each year, the JOM/Title VII Conference is held at Fond du Lac Ojibway School to address a wide range of Indian Education issues. The conference is a collaborative effort of the Fond du Lac Tribal government, Fond du Lac Ojibway School, Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe, and this office. The conference provides workshops on various topics and is attended by parents, K-12 students, teachers, school board members, college students and staff, state agencies, and private organizations.

     In order to comply with MS124D.78, please complete all three forms: (1)Transmittal form, (2) Parent Roster, and (3) Parent Committee Resolution. The Parent Committee Resolution provides a record of concurrence/non-concurrence with school district policies.

     As per Minnesota Statute, 124D.78, Subdivision 1 (previously known as 126.51)... the district in which there are ten or more American Indian children enrolled...must establish a parent committee.

The Transmittal of Resolution updates the status of the Parent Committee activities and the Parent Committee Roster identifies the membership of the committee
