Self Review

The Minnesota Continuous Improvement Process Monitoring Process: Self Review (MNCIMP: SR) is designed to assist districts in meeting individual needs of special education students. MNCIMP: SR incorporates program evaluation and due process compliance into district strategic planning. MDE's Divisions of Compliance and Assistance (DCA) and Special Education Policy (SEP) work collaboratively with Districts to improve general compliance with state and federal legislation, and develop a program evaluation system that addresses the quality of special education programming.

Districts participating in SR establish a leadership team, develop an integrated strategic plan that includes an internal monitoring and data collection process, and implement their plan. Throughout the monitoring cycle, districts analyze data, review and revise the strategic plan, and implement needed change. This review process affords MDE oversight to ensure procedural safeguards and FAPE are in effect, as well as support a district’s efforts with program evaluation and improvement.

Sections listed at the right provide reporting examples and training tools to assist you in completing MNCIMP: SR requirements.
