Parent Involvement

Parent Involvement

Parental Involvement is a critical component of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 2001. Parental involvement activities are outlined in Parent Involvement Procedures at both the district and school level. Parental involvement embraces improved communication between parents and teachers. It includes a variety of events for parents to help support their child’s education and parent/teacher conferences which result in signed agreements setting out expectations for parents, teachers and students. Districts commit to prompt notification to parents regarding additional services available to students when schools do not meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). This section of our site is intended to help districts and schools meet NCLB parental involvement requirements.
