MAILING LISTS & LABELS
The Minnesota Department of Education does not generate mailing lists or labels. These can be acquired in one of two ways.
- For generic mailing lists or labels for districts or schools, you can download the appropriate raw data file below and using a database application, generate your own list or labels.
- The Minnesota Bookstore's Mailing List Services specializes in creating mailing labels and lists of all sorts. They can be reached at 651-296-0930. They do charge a fee for their services.
LISTS & CONTACT INFORMATION
These reports provide listings of information relating to various groupings of educational entities. The lists are dynamically updated, whenever a change is made to the data. They are best used on-line, or in printed form.
- Districts-Alphabetical (district #, name & phone)
- Districts-Numerical (district #, name & phone)
- Districts by County (county # & name, district # & name, address & phone)
- Cooperative Districts (Intermediate & Ed Districts; Sp. Ed & Vocational Coops & other misc.)
- Public Schools-Alphabetical (school name & #, district name & #)
- Elementary & Secondary Schools by District (school contact information)
- Elementary & Secondary Schools by County (school contact information)
- Charter Schools (location & contact information)
- Area Learning Centers (location & contact information)
- Private Alternative Schools (location & contact information)
- Nonpublic Schools-Alphabetical List (location & contact information)
- Superintendents-Alphabetical (superintendent, district #/name & phone)
RAW DATA FOR DOWNLOADING
The downloadable files are formatted as comma delimited ASCII text files. These files update dynamically whenever a change is made to the relevant data. To use the files below:

Print the corresponding File Layout document, located immediately above the data file.

Save the desired data file to your computer.

Open the data management application you wish to use in working with the data (MS Excel or another spreadsheet application should work fine) and from within that application, open the comma delimited text file you downloaded.

Follow the appropriate procedures to properly format the data for use in your application.

Using the File Layout document, enter the column headings into the "spreadsheet" you've created.

District Data File - district name, district number, district type, address, city, state, zip, zip+4; superintendent name, phone number, fax number, e-mail address; county name & number.
- Public School File Layout

Public School Data File - school name, address, city, state, zip, zip+4, principal name, phone number, fax number, district name, district number, district type, county name & number, grade range, school classification.
- Nonpublic School File Layout

Nonpublic School Data File - school name, address, city, state, zip, zip+4, nonpublic type, district number, nonpublic school number, district name, county name & number.
- Organizations File Layout
- Organizations: Regional & Educational Data File - program name, agency name, address, city state. zip, zip+4, first name, mi, last name, agency head title, agency email, agency web, phone number, fax number.
