The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) develops two reports on student enrollment at the State level for each year (starting in 2007-08): one by grade, ethnicity and gender and the second by special populations (limited English proficiency/English language learners, special education students and students receiving free or reduced price meals. The Enrollment-State-Special Populations file includes columns for total student enrollment K-12 and PreK-12.

A description file is also provided containing a definition of each data element and notes on origin and use of the data.
