Immediate official verification for state officials of your educator license is available from the Minnesota Department of Education online website at the Teacher License Lookup site. It will be faster for the state to look up your license at this official site, or for you to print out a copy and submit that when requested.
If you need verification through another format (i.e., a form or statement), send the required form or a request in writing (with your licensure File Folder Number included) to:
Minnesota Department of Education
Attention: Educator Licensing, Kat Anthony-Wigle
1500 Highway 36 West
Roseville, MN 55113
Please be aware that Educator Licensing is not able to provide verification of any information for teacher exams (i.e., scores, passing information, dates completed, etc.) since we do not retain this information. Also, verification of federal “Highly Qualified” standing is not available through Educator Licensing since that status is determined by the school district in context of the assignment, or is dependent on another state’s definition.
For individuals applying for licensure outside of Minnesota who need a “Letter of Good Standing” regarding conduct, email Kat Anthony-Wigle, Educator Licensing with a formal request, at Katherine.anthony-wigle@state.mn.us. In the request include your file folder number, information required to be in the letter, and the address to where the letter is to be sent.
Verification forms and letters are completed and mailed biweekly; allow for sufficient time to process and complete your request. Also, we cannot provide verification if your license is in process, and has not yet been issued.
If you need to check on the progress of the form/letter or have additional information to add to your request, please email Kat Anthony-Wigle at the above email.
If you need verification of a Speech-Language Pathologist or School Psychologist license, send the required form or a request in writing (with your licensure File Folder Number included) to:
