Autism Spectrum Disorders License
The Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) License is a new Special Education licensure field as of January 1, 2013. A teacher with the ASD license is authorized to provide evaluation and specially designed instruction to eligible children and youth from birth through age 21 that have autism spectrum disorders.
Teachers collaborate and consult with families, other classroom and special education teachers, and specialized service providers in designing and implementing individualized education program (IEP) plans. See Minnesota Rule 8710.5850 for more detailed information.
