Policies and Procedures: Postsecondary Success
Policies and procedures play an important role in preparing students for success after graduation. Procedures might include instituting practices where all students take the PLAN, Explore and ACT tests, and to ensure their results are understood by students, parents and staff.  Maintaining student portfolios and personal learning plans is a longitudinal practice that keeps students, parents and staff focused on the big picture. Encouraging or requiring all students to take rigorous courses prepares them for postsecondary experiences, and hosting FAFSA nights for parents and students and encouraging college and workplace visits helps students envision their futures. Including postsecondary planning discussions at parent-teacher conferences promotes big-picture thinking for all.
