School sites participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) are eligible to receive reimbursement from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for afterschool snacks served to children in afterschool educational or enrichment activities (such as mentoring or tutoring programs). Competitive interscholastic sports teams are not an eligible afterschool program. The programs must meet State or local licensing requirements and State or local health and safety standards.  Reimbursable snacks must meet the USDA meal pattern for snacks.
