State Library Advisory Council

The Minnesota State Library Advisory Council advises the State Library Services office of the Department of Education in planning, development and evaluation of library services for all persons in the State of Minnesota and provided by all types of libraries. The council which is representative of all Congressional Districts, provides opportunities for communication with the library community and the residents served by the libraries and is positioned to recommend appropriate policies and programs based on citizen input. The Council advises on the priorities of the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grants. Councilors promote statewide activities and advocate for quality library services.
