State Plan for Libraries

The State Library Advisory Council has established a State Library Plan Task Force that is responsible to draft a statewide plan for library services for the State of Minnesota.

Advisory council member, Garrison Hale, has been named Chair of the Task Force. Assisting leading this effort will be Lars Steltzner, Chair of the Advisory Council, and Suzanne Miller, State Librarian. A team of people from around the State of Minnesota have been asked to serve on the Task Force.

The State Plan for Libraries will address

  • the library services the people of Minnesota want to have available
  • Areas of unmet need
  • Priorities of service requirements
  • The current structure of library service delivery
  • Funding streams for library service
  • Directions for the future
