Assistive Technology (AT) devices are defined by law as “any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.” *AT Act of 1998.
With the constant evolution of technology, it becomes challenging to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable on AT devices. This page offers a variety of ways to stay current in the field of AT. Providers, consumers, parents and advocates of AT devices and services can use these links to increase or share their knowledge and to research answers to questions concerning AT.
Two DVDs are available to use as teaching and resource tools. They are The Student-Environment-Task-Tools (SETT) Framework for Assistive Technology featuring Joy Zabala, Ed.D, ATP and Involving All Students, Tools for Reading, Writing and Math.
