Building Level Leadership
The principal is involved in every aspect of the school's operation and is, therefore, the primary figure in determining the school’s quality and character. Principals in quality elementary and middle schools exhibit strong leadership capabilities. Because the principal’s own vision contributes to the overall vision of the school community, he or she is key to ensuring that students with disabilities learn and succeed. Thus, the principal's leadership will have a great impact on the school's implementation of the legal requirements of IDEA and sound practices related to educating students with disabilities.
