District Information

In order to support Mandarin Chinese Language initiatives the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) has developed a Mandarin Chinese curriculum and several proposals for legislative approval including increasing the number of teachers licensed to teach Mandarin Chinese in Minnesota and increasing the number of programs offered in Minnesota schools. 

In addition, the department has information for school districts interested in the Visiting Teacher Program, which involves bringing teachers from China to teach Mandarin Chinese language and culture to Minnesota students.
