
Salary Augmentation—Definition and Example
What is Salary Augmentation?
Salary augmentation is a one-time payment and/or release time added to teacher’s salary as a result of performing additional leadership responsibilities. The teacher would become ineligible for additional augmentation if he/she no longer serves in the position.
What is an Example of Disaggregated Data?
Example:
A mentor teacher is responsible for providing teachers with professional development, coaching on specific instructional strategies/skills and for observing all teachers on their team at least one time each term. To compensate for the additional responsibilities, the mentor is paid an additional $1,000.00 and is provided with .25 release time to work with teachers in their classrooms.
