Al Louismet is the Director of the Agency Finance and Operations Division at the Minnesota Department of Education. The Division provides central accounting services such as accounts payable, federal grant accounting, accounts receivable, cashier, professional/technical contract coordination, grant agreements coordination, procurement and encumbrance coordination, payroll transaction coordination and processing, and inventory tracking. The division also coordinates and monitors the department’s annual spending plan as well as completion of numerous financial reports at both the state and federal level.
Mr. Louismet has over 35 years of experience working at various levels within State Government Accounting; including 23 years at the Department of Management and Budget and eight years at the Department of Agriculture.

Middle and high school teams are invited to participate in a free, half-day workshop focused on the Planning for Student's Successful Transition to Postsecondary and Employment: Personal Learning Plans legislation. The law requires students to have a Personal Learning Plan no later than grade 9. Hear from several schools about strategies they are using.
