Description:

Breakfast Meal Pattern
Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFKA) regulations will phase in changes to the school breakfast meal pattern over the next few years. Participants will learn breakfast changes for the 2013-14 school year and what to expect for future program years.

Offer vs. Serve
Learn the basics about the Offer vs. Serve provision and how the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act regulations affect the implementation of this option for lunch meal service. Test your knowledge of Offer vs. Serve by participation in hands on activities to assist you in recognizing a reimbursable meal.

USDA Foods Overview
This session is designed for all food distribution related staff including caterers, business managers and food service employees. The session provides a more in-depth overview of the USDA Foods (Commodities) program and the four distribution channels available to Minnesota sponsors, i.e., Regular USDA Foods, MN Rebate Program (MRP), MN Fee for Service (FFS) and the USDA Department of Defense Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (DoD-FFVP).

USDA Foods Distribution Program: In-depth Review
This session is designed for all food distribution related staff including caterers, business managers and food service employees that use the Cyber-Linked Interactive Child Nutrition System (CLiCS) to respond to preference surveys, track orders and oversee entitlement. The session provides an expansive view of Food Distribution Program processes for successful participation. Detailed discussions regarding “how to’s” of the four distribution channels, i.e., Regular USDA Foods, MN Rebate Program (MRP), MN Fee for Service (FFS) and the USDA Department of Defense Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (DoD-FFVP), as well as the surveying, tracking and rebating processes within CLiCS 1 will also be reviewed.
