Special Education Rules
The department has begun the expedited rulemaking process for the Special Education rules. The proposed rule changes are outlined in the legislative report that was submitted to the legislature on February 15, 2014.

The Special Education Case Load Task Force Report and the proposed special education rule amendments are available below.

The department intends to adopt the proposed expedited special education rules without a hearing. The department will be accepting comments on the proposed rule language and hearing requests during the comment period between July 21, 2014 and August 22, 2014. A hearing will only be held if the department receives 100 or more valid hearing requests.
