
Public comment period begins on science standards revision

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD BEGINS ON
SCIENCE STANDARDS REVISION
Roseville – The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) is seeking public comment on the first draft revision of the Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards in Science from September 12 through September 26, 2008.
The science standards define what students should know and be able to do in a particular grade and are developed in partnership with Minnesota educators.
Statewide town meetings will give the public the chance to discuss the draft revision with members of the revision committee and department representatives.
All meetings are scheduled from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., in the following locations:
9-15-08 Fergus Falls (Lakes Country Service Cooperative)
9-16-08 Bemidji (Bemidji High School)
9-22-08 Rochester (Century High School)
9-23-08 Duluth (Old Historic Central High School)
9-24-08 Marshall (Marshall Middle School)
9-25-08 Roseville (Minnesota Department of Education)
