Business & Marketing

Business Education provides instruction for and about business. Students learn the basic principles of business, study personal finance, develop techniques for making wise consumer decisions, master economic principles and learn how businesses operate.

The multifaceted discipline of business education includes the functional areas of business (management, marketing, finance, accounting, entrepreneurship); factors that affect business (economics, international business, business law); basic skills (computation, information technology, communication); and examining business from different perspectives.

CLEP Exam Timeline. Minnesota high school students have until June 30, 2008, to take up to six free College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP®) exams as part of the “Get Ready, Get Credit” initiative. The testing window for the 2008-09 school year is October 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. This program allows students to earn college credit while still in high school by earning qualifying scores on exams, saving families significant money on college tuition.  Read the CLEP: Quick Start for Business Students below for more information.

Business educators play a prominent role in developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for students to succeed in the workforce. The Business Education Today newsletter, available below, includes news, resources and events specifically designed for business educators in Minnesota.
