Minnesota Offers a Variety of School Choice Programs
The Division of School Choice Programs and Services provides quality guidance, support and information to school districts, families, programs and community-based organizations regarding educational options for Minnesota families. A wide array of school choice options allows parents to pursue the most appropriate learning environment for their child. Information is available for the following programs; Open Enrollment, Magnet Schools, Charter Schools, Online Learning, Nonpublic Schools (traditional, private and homeschools), Integration-Desegregation, Supplemental Educational Services, State-Approved Alternative Programs and The Choice is Yours Program.
The division also provides information for families regarding tax credits and subtractions for educational expenses and information on the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program.
Per-Pupil Data and 20 Percent Obligation Amounts Posted
Check the Supplemental Educational Services page to find information about each district's 20 percent obligation amount and per-pupil allocation (PPA) for the 2009-2010 school year for districts with schools that are required to offer supplememtal educational services (SES).
