ELL Manuals & Directions

The Research and Assessment division provides manuals and directions for administering tests to English language learners (ELL).  Assessments include the Test of Emerging Academic English (TEAE), the Minnesota Student Oral Language Observation Matrix (MN SOLOM) and the Mathematics Test for English Language Learners (MTELL).  For learners in grades K-2, teachers will complete the Reading and Writing Checklist.

MTELL is a computer-delivered test.  Software and manuals for administration of online tests plus item samplers are available on the Minnesota Online Assessments website.  A link to the site is provided in the left-hand column on this page under Related Links.
