The Research and Assessment division provides background and technical information about the construction of the English language learner tests and the use of the data they generate. English language learner tests include the Test of Emerging Academic English (TEAE), the Minnesota Student Oral Language Observation Matrix (MN SOLOM), and the Mathematics Test for English Language Learners (MTELL) .
