Safe and Drug-Free Schools-Title IV Part A

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) administers funding under the federal Title IV, Part A Safe and Drug-Free Schools (SDFS) and Communities Act Minnesota school districts and charter schools to help prevent students’ use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs, prevent school violence and to increase parental involvement. The SDFS program provides resources to implement comprehensive, scientifically-proven prevention and early intervention programs.

Project SERV funding: School Emergency Response to Violence:  This program funds short-term and long-term education-related services for districts to help them recover from a violent event in which the learning environment has been disrupted.
