Behavior Assessment & Interventions
Comprehensive behavior assessment and the development of student specific positive behavior interventions is critical for providing appropriate specialized services for students with disabilities and challenging behaviors. Because each student has unique educational needs related to their disability, knowledge of quality services for individualized assessment and intervention is required.
Here users can access behavioral assessment and intervention resources to use with children and youth with disabilities. Click on “Positive Behavioral Interventions” to access intervention information developed by the Office of Special Education Programs, US Department of Education, to give schools capacity-building information and technical assistance for identifying, adapting, and sustaining effective school-wide disciplinary practices. Click on “Tip Sheets: Positive Ways of Intervening with Challenging Behavior” to access additional information developed by the Institute on Community Integration.
